FROM BEGINNING By 1914 the Rainbow Lodge was completed by Whistler’s founding families and soon became known as the most popular resort west of Banff and Jasper for adventures and family gatherings. In the 60's Rainbow Mountain was the first commercial ski hill in the area until operations opened in 1966 at London Mountain, which is now, what you know as Whistler Mountain.
