Neighbourhood Retail
A small shopping and commercial area will be developed and key to offering a self-sustaining community and plans already include a Gas Station, Grocery Store, Pub and Day Care facilities with underground parking.
This commercial area is located at the main entrance of the neighbourhood to provide easy access from the highway and is within 400 metres (maximum) of any home within the Rainbow subdivision. Walking is encouraged so traffic is kept away from the residential areas.
Rainbow’s commercial and retail outlets will reflect the needs of its community with the hopes of having Whistler’s entrepreneurs see the potential of offering their services and products direct to their neighbours. For example, a doctor’s office, coffee shop, small café, video rental store would be perfect complements.
